    This home is in the unspoilt eastern Lake District, close to Ullswater and Askham. Butterwick is a little oasis of calm, not too far from the attractions of Pooley Bridge, Helvellyn and Aira Force. It sits in the Lowther Valley which remains a little off the beaten track. There are walks from the doorstep, cycle trails and bike hire at the nearby Lowther Castle. It offers an unique experience with red squirrels and woodpeckers in the garden, a fairy tale castle nearby and starlit skies, Scar View is perfect for family fun and your four-legged family members are welcome too. The house is a converted barn and has exposed beams and open stone work in some rooms. The gardens are large and filled with wild life. There are lots of tufts and dips, and places to hide, as well as outdoor seating to enjoy the afternoon sun. There is a wood burner in the sitting area for cosy evenings, a smart TV and grand piano, for you to enjoy. The kitchen is well equipped including dishwasher, nutri-bullet, ovens, microwave and 4 slot toaster. Upstairs there is a bathroom and a downstairs shower room with WC. Guests also have access to the utility room with sink and laundry facilities. A starter pack of fire wood, firelighters and kindling is provided. Plenty of parking for 3 cars and outdoor seating so you can enjoy the sunshine and scenery. Easy access from M6.

    The cottage has recently been fully refurbished to a high standard, and is located on the North East Wales/Cheshire/Shropshire borders. Perfect for families or two couples to explore the beautiful surrounding areas. Ideal rural location for walkers, bikers or horse riders, great shopping locally in Whitchurch, Chester, Shrewsbury, Cheshire Oaks, close to Iscoyd Park and Combermere Abbey two local wedding venues, Bangor on Dee races 5 miles away, Pontycyllte Aqueduct a World Heritage Site, three excellent golf courses locally Hill Valley, Langollen and Hawkston Park all within 20 minutes drive. The cottage is a self-contained holiday cottage, fully equipped, offering all mod cons plus comfort and luxury for our guests. Dogs are welcome. On arrival at the cottage you will enter through the front door into the well equipped kitchen on the left. The appliances offered are fridge plus separate freezer, oven and induction hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, granite worktops, Belfast sink and all cooking equipment to bake a cake or cook a roast dinner. The dining room on the right seats 4 guests and has a French door leading out onto the terrace overlooking the walled garden. The dining room leads into the spacious lounge on the ground floor, all open plan, feels very light and airy. The lounge has a fire place with log burner as a focal point, staircase leading to first floor, plus French doors out onto the terrace overlooking the walled garden. The staircase leads from the lounge to first floor. Right is a twin bed room with En suite bathroom (slipper bath with combination shower attachment), toilet and sink. On the left is the master bedroom with En suite bathroom, (double ended bath, separate shower, vanity unit housing sink, and toilet) The cottage sleeps 4 comfortably, plus there is a camp bed and cot available on request. The decor is traditional with a modern twist, offering carefully chosen soft furnishings throughout, very tastefully designed with accessories to compliment.
