The Guesthouse is located in the rural community of Sencca, overlooking the city of Cusco and Sacsayhuaman archaelogical site (15 minutes in car from the Plaza de Armas of Cusco). The Guesthouse has views of Salkantay mountain to the west, and Ausangate mountain to the east, (and Cusco city), making for spectacular sunrise and sunsets and night light vistas. Sencca is on the way to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu, and 10 minutes to the Poroy train station where trains to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) depart.
The Guesthouse provides a comfortable and enjoyable stay for those wishing to get out of the city and interact with local people, without being far away from city conveniences or modern comforts. The guesthouse is rented out in full and has a private sunroom, garden/lawn area and an external laundry. There is parking available at no extra charge. Our rates include transfers on arrival and departure, Wi-Fi and satellite TV and a welcome pack on arrival. The guesthouse is located at an altitude of 3600 metres above sea level so you may need to take it easy on the first couple of days.
The local people in the village speak Quechua, language of the Incas as well as Spanish. There are many corner stores in the community where you can buy everything from bread to toothbrushes to beer, but you might want to visit a supermarket for meat and dairy products. On Sundays, the locals play soccer and spend time with friends and family. During the week you will see the kids heading off to school and families taking their animals out to pasture. As you are staying in a rural area you may hear dogs, donkeys and other animals during your stay.
