Big White is located 45 miles from Kelowna in the Central Interior of B.C. It receives an average 24.5 feet of light 'champagne powder' every year and offers outstanding skiing and riding opportunities, with a wide variety of terrain.
An eight passenger gondola links the 'Happy Valley' area (ice skating, Alpine Mega SnowCoaster Tubing, Cross Country Skiing, Dogsledding, Snowmobiling, Snowshoeing and lodgings) to the center of the Village.
The 'Mega SnowCoaster' Tube Park, currently the largest in North America, has 9 lanes over 900 feet long and two lifts capable of uploading 600 people an hour.
Because of Big White's copious amount of dry snow, the trees are frozen into 'Snowghost' sculptures on the higher portions of the terrain. These 'Snowghosts' are a visual phenomenon.
4 new glade runs on 100 acres, between Goat's Kick and Serwa's. They are 3,000' long, and have 1,000' vertical; great new terrain for the advanced skiers and riders!
The Big White Kid's Centre, awarded as "#1 programs and facilities for kids" in Canada for the last 3 years, offers a large variety of programs for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, for children 3 yrs and up. Complimentary helmets are available.
There is a Daycare facility for children 18 months and older.
Big White ski lodging are offered along with many restaurants and pubs, a convenience store, bakery, equipment sales, rental and repair, coffee shop, candy store, souvenir store, cash machine, medical clinic and more.
For adventure, there are dog sled tours, snowmobile tours and snowshoeing.The little ones will enjoy the skating, tubing, torchlight parade and fireworks.
Snowboarders will love the natural terrain, purpose built terrain parks, and beginner freestyle park areas, plus an impressive 450 ft expert half pipe, and a beginners pipe under lights.
Ski terrain at Big White is 28% advanced, 54% intermediate, and 18% beginners. There are 16 lifts, with a total patrolled skiable area of 2,765 acres (1,147 hectares). There are 38 acres illuminated for night skiing, and 25 kms (15m) of cross country trails.
There is an On Mountain Shuttle that runs on a half hour schedule leaving from the Village Centre Mall on the hour and half hour. From the Village Centre Mall the shuttle goes up to Treetops, departing at Ten after and Twenty to the hour for the Happy Valley Day Lodge and Snowpines.
