Peachland, nestled on the shore of Okanagan lake, is a quaint small town. This community between Kelowna and Pentiction is only a 3 1/2 hour drive to Vancouver.
Peachland is 40 K north of Penticton, 38 K south of Kelowna, and 25 K north of Summerland. It was incorporated in 1909
The Okanagan valley is famous for its long, hot, dry summers. The many lakes in this region offer a refuge from the summer's heat.
Throughout the area apple, peach and pear orchards are prevalent.
There are 12 trout fishing lakes in the nearby area.
The Okanagan boasts over 25 wineries, most of which have regular tours and tastings.
The closest winery to Peachland is Hainle Vineyard, which is just north of the town.
Thanks to the semi arid climate, hiking and mountain biking are favorite activities, especially on the nearby 'Kettle Valley Railway'.
Visitors can also enjoy horseback riding, biking, rock climbing and various water sports. The are watercraft available for rent.
The two closest ski hills are Apex Mountain Resort, and Crystal Mountain.
The nearby town of Westbank and the city of Kelowna offer excellent restaurants, great shopping, and superb entertainment by day or night - just a 20-30 minute drive away.
The Kelowna area is a mecca for golfers. The golf course closest to Peachland is The Ponderosa.
The town has a Museum, with historical photographs, artifacts and a model railway. There is 'Heritage Park' and a small-town mall to visit.
Peachland has 8 kms of clean pebble beach and is known for its downtown beachfront.
There are restaurants and Pubs, tennis courts on the main highway, and outdoor adventure tours available.
