Fabulous location in Lemon grove near the sea | 17 Jun 2019 |

Oasi delle Salinelle is a large well appointed Sicilian villa set in a very large garden full of lemon trees, olive trees and beautiful flowers. The outside space is fabulous with large shaded patio and an open first floor terrace that looks out over the lemon grove. The property is well appointed with large kitchen, lounge & dining area, 2 shower/toilet rooms, 2 cosy double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. Note no air conditioning. There is a secluded path leading directly to the sea shore not more that 5 minutes walk through the lemon groves and garden. The beach immediately accessed from the villa grounds is sandy and unspoilt where we could bathe and enjoy evening picnics. We were there at the start of June and the beach was pretty and fairly quiet, there are two small lidos on either side of the seashore at the back of the property but not intrusive. Nearby is a small restaurant and lido bar to relax and enjoy a cool drink and some pleasant food. The owner speaks English and is a wonderful, charming and warm host who went out of his way to make sure our stay was perfect . Note there are 2 or 3 other small cottages in the grounds but they were not near the villa and did not intrude on our privacy. The villa is located right on the small road leading to the quiet village of Salinelle so please expect some noise from passing traffic at various times in the day also being set in such lush vegetation you may want to prepare for mosquitoes, ants etc. as you wander through the grounds. There is a nearby train station so you can get into both Cefalu & Palermo without the hassle of taking a car into these popular and busy places if you want to. The Villa is an old country residence settled on an estate of 26,000 sqm, a large and secret garden paradise containing groves of olive, and many others trees. It is located about just 6 KM from the historic centre of the charming, age-old Norman town of Cefalu, and combines the natural scenic beauty and peacefulness of the countryside with direct access to the sea.The Villa is very quiet and peaceful for most of the year, although in the summertime the beach attracts many visitors for its natural beauty, its soft sands and its safe bathing: this is Salinelle beach, among the most scenically beautiful of Cefalu. The area offers markets, pizzerias, restaurants, pubs, beach lidos, to mention just a few of the offerings available.

The Villa itself has two floors. On the first is the entrance hall, the living room (containing a double sofa-bed), a delightfully traditional kitchen with attractive brickwork and a bathroom with shower. The second floor has 3 rooms with double beds (one of which can be separated into 2 singles), another bathroom with shower and a single bed located on the landing.
Two of the bedrooms have access to a large veranda/terrace from which you can enjoy a colourful view of the sea and the surrounding lush vegetation of palms, citrus and pine trees in which you will feel immediately immersed. And you can relax and have your breakfast outside in the shade of a large date palm beside the Villa.
Inside the villa there is everything you need for cooking – crockery, gas oven, microwave oven – and there is stereo system, satellite TV, central heating radiators, hairdryer and irons if your clothes need ironing.
Internet WI-FI is now available for guests.
There is no air conditioning, but in this place you will hardly feel the need for it.
The proprietor, who lives on the estate, is very happy to meet all of your needs to ensure that your stay will be pleasant and relaxing.

Outside the house is an expansive wisteria pergola, underneath which is a large family-size table made in artisan brickwork, and a barbecue is located nearby, in the shade of a pathway of pine trees.
Sun loungers and canoes are provided for beach use, and a small sailing boat is available for the more adventurous.
Domestic pets including dogs are welcome, provided they of gentle disposition and friendly to humans as well as to any other animals which may be on the land!
