THE LAYOUT The lower level has the big game room with lots of board games, another full refrigerator, a large bedroom (two twin beds with trundle beds) that can sleep four or be pushed together for a king and a full en-suite bathroom. The main floor has a gorgeous corner living/dining room with two sofas, a dining table for 8, a fully stocked “chef’s kitchen” with two dishwashers, a breakfast bar and 4 bar stools. There are five French doors that lead out to a huge screened porch. The porch has two more dining tables that pushed together can seat 12 or more, ceiling fans, lots of seating, chaises and a heavenly napping bench. Off the porch is a large sundeck with more chaises, a gas grill and more panoramic views. Also on this middle floor is a master-size bedroom with a King bed and doors that open to the screened-in porch. The large windowed bathroom is across the hall and there a washer/dryer. The top floor has three bedrooms all with fabulous ocean views. (One queen, one king, and the third with two double beds.) The top floor also has one full bathroom, a computer desk another small sitting area. WYKEE ESTATES 'Bahama Mama' is located in a charming community of only eight other stone houses. Wykee Estates was built in the 1940's for the first Premier of the Bahamas as a holiday retreat for his family and staff. Our house is the only home built more recently. MORE FEATURES The has was totally renovated when I bought it and it’s been beautifully maintained. We have split AC units, lovely linens, comfy mattresses, beautiful landscaping, mature fruit trees, a hammock and tether ball THE POOL & PINK SAND BEACH Wykee Estates has a gorgeous low chlorine, saline pool with teak chaises that is shared with the other residents, but surprisingly it’s hardly used. I also rarely see anyone on our magical pink sand beach that is easily a half mile long and is just beautiful. GOLF CARTS Both the shared pool and beach are just a few minute walk from the house or a 30-second golf cart ride (two golf carts come with the house). BEST LOCATION We are in a great location just five minutes by car from the town of Governor's Harbour and eight minutes from the GHB airport. You can also walk five minutes or take the golf cart to the Sky Beach Club with its restaurant, spectacular views, lounge chairs, infinity pool with swim-up cocktail bar. CHILL OUT The island is totally kicked back and relaxed. Leave your high heels at home along with your makeup. The adults can eat at several great beachfront restaurants while the kids run on the beach and play just steps away from your table. The residents of Eleuthera are warm and friendly and the island is very safe GOVERNOR’S HARBOUR The town of Governors Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. where you can buy fresh fish and lobster most afternoons from the local fishermen. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery and gift shops. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

    The home definitely has a wow factor when you walk through the door,the views are breathtaking. The house is very comfortable to hang out in and very well equipped. They even had puzzles and games. I liked the fact that the bedrooms were on the other side of the living area, that way if some went to bed early others still could stay up without interference. We only had 3 in our group so we never used the guest house or the pool house for that matter. The beds and pillows were not that comfortable average at best. I was very disappointed that the big master spa tub did not work and he said they couldn’t get parts to fix it. It probably would have taken a day to fill because the water pressure is vey low. I would suggest they remove the photo and update the living room photo because the furniture is completely different. The new couches and rug are beautiful and comfortable.
    I think a lot of things are so expensive that they just defer you from using them. The biggest one being the air conditioning and your $300 allowance. Had I read that I’m not sure I would rent here. It was very humid and we rarely turned it on except for the bedrooms at night and sometimes in the afternoon to get the humidity out. Like I said never used the guesthouse and we went over the allowance. I think for this kind of money you shouldn’t have to worry about your comfort level. I do have to say the management company was amazing anything you needed they were very attentive and always pleasant. It was easy to arrange for a masseuse to come to the house,they also have a cleaning service come in one day,and we were able to arrange our COVID tests to be taken at our villa.

    The bathroom was convenient when out by the pool because you could not access the pool from the back of the house. We did sit down by the dock but I have no idea how you could ever go in the water from there,it is complete rocks and the stairs under the water are so slippery that I couldn’t even get my feet wet so that was a bit disappointing. We did enjoy the pool area and swam many nights as well.
    Not being familiar with the area the home is not near town so there is nothing to walk to or even go walking. We had hoped to walk every day but the streets are not conducive to it. I’m glad we rented a car however anytime we went to town for dinner we hired a driver because with driving on the other side of the road which I was also not aware of it was too scary at night.
    In conclusion I would just say do your homework and make sure the things that are important to you are addressed. It’s a beautiful country with beautiful friendly people. Bring lots of money because it is so expensive ??
