It consists of 2 cottages, 100 yards from the beach, connected by a patio and tile walkway. You won't find a better value, a more affordable private, secluded, direct-beachfront estate in the prime Governors Harbour location of Banks Road. The Main Cottage of Rocks Retreat is a 24 x 24 two story cottage with a broad wrap around veranda. The entire upstairs is one enormous bedroom with two queen beds and two single beds. (The bathroom is downstairs.) It has a wonderful ocean views from its many windows and two lovely balconies. The downstairs of the Main Cottage is a large great room with a kitchen, dining room, and living area, and a small bathroom with a tile shower. The kitchen area is small but adequate. There is also an outdoor shower. For larger groups which need a second bedroom, the Guest Cottage is a spacious king bedroom suite with a sitting area and an en suite double sink bathroom with a tub and separate tile shower. The Guest Cottage is available for an additional charge of $50/night, which also pays for two more guests. If you don't need it, it will be locked off and NOT rented to anyone else. Rocks Retreat is always rented to just one group at a time. The Main Villa’s spacious bedroom with two queen and two single beds has wonderful views from both balconies and cool breezes being on the second floor. The disadvantage of the Main Villa is that the bathroom is downstairs and not very large. If you prefer a large en suite bathroom (or if you are a party of more than two), you can add the Guest Cottage for $50/night. Rocks Retreat is set back 100 yards from the ocean and the spectacular Culmer's Rocks that separates the north from the south beach. We have access to both spectacular beaches, which are typically deserted. The private grounds are mowed and spacious with palmettos and palm trees. You have 12 acres all to yourself! Amenities include WIFI, air conditioning, washer/dryer, and two outdoor showers. You can use the WIFI to stream movies and shows to your devices, but there is no TV at this property. Rocks Retreat is located on the prestigious Banks Road of Governors Harbour. Famous Tippy's restaurant is just a mile away. The town of Governors Harbour is a 5 minute drive. The house is built with its original stonework, made from the local island coral stone. To the right you will find an outdoor shower, hidden under a lovely blanket of Allamanda flowers. The beds are one of a kind, built with original local pieces of drift wood and with ambrosia bedding. THESE TWIN BEDS CAN BE CONVERTED TO A KING AT YOUR REQUEST. At the end of the room, you will find the linen closet with a washer and dryer. Next to the linen closet is the bathroom which is shared with the second bedroom (the bathroom is located in between the two twin bed rooms). The second bedroom is similar to the first bedroom, with two twin beds and ambrosia bedding. This bedroom has a garden view and a door that gives access to the back yard. The drive to Med Point, takes you for about half a mile, on a sandy lane through French Leave Beach, looking out to sea and giant cacti and palms. You will enjoy this splendid view of nature every day, as you go into town. The famous bar/restaurant Tippy's is close, and there are upscale restaurants such as Sky Beach Club and 1648 Bar and Grill, Bachus Fine Foods within five minutes. French Leave (Club Med) Beach stretches south for 1 mile: we are at the northern edge where it is quiet, with fewer tourists. Casuarina Beach, stretches north of us for another mile, and then Twin Cove beach stretches north for another mile or so. All of this can be walked along wide sandy pink beaches with excellent shelling. Or you can jog along the sandy path that is Old Banks Road and have wide vistas of white surf. There are no houses between this house and the mile-long beach of pink sand where a Club Med once stood, the most sought-after beach location on Eleuthera. The ocean is turquoise, shallow, and historically safe, having served Club Med well for many years. Children love this shallow beach.     The home definitely has a wow factor when you walk through the door,the views are breathtaking. The house is very comfortable to hang out in and very well equipped. They even had puzzles and games. I liked the fact that the bedrooms were on the other side of the living area, that way if some went to bed early others still could stay up without interference. We only had 3 in our group so we never used the guest house or the pool house for that matter. The beds and pillows were not that comfortable average at best. I was very disappointed that the big master spa tub did not work and he said they couldn’t get parts to fix it. It probably would have taken a day to fill because the water pressure is vey low. I would suggest they remove the photo and update the living room photo because the furniture is completely different. The new couches and rug are beautiful and comfortable.
    I think a lot of things are so expensive that they just defer you from using them. The biggest one being the air conditioning and your $300 allowance. Had I read that I’m not sure I would rent here. It was very humid and we rarely turned it on except for the bedrooms at night and sometimes in the afternoon to get the humidity out. Like I said never used the guesthouse and we went over the allowance. I think for this kind of money you shouldn’t have to worry about your comfort level. I do have to say the management company was amazing anything you needed they were very attentive and always pleasant. It was easy to arrange for a masseuse to come to the house,they also have a cleaning service come in one day,and we were able to arrange our COVID tests to be taken at our villa.

    The bathroom was convenient when out by the pool because you could not access the pool from the back of the house. We did sit down by the dock but I have no idea how you could ever go in the water from there,it is complete rocks and the stairs under the water are so slippery that I couldn’t even get my feet wet so that was a bit disappointing. We did enjoy the pool area and swam many nights as well.
    Not being familiar with the area the home is not near town so there is nothing to walk to or even go walking. We had hoped to walk every day but the streets are not conducive to it. I’m glad we rented a car however anytime we went to town for dinner we hired a driver because with driving on the other side of the road which I was also not aware of it was too scary at night.
    In conclusion I would just say do your homework and make sure the things that are important to you are addressed. It’s a beautiful country with beautiful friendly people. Bring lots of money because it is so expensive ??
