This is a rural tourism facility located in the north of Portugal, near the Atlantic coast. This vacation rental house has a capacity for 14+ people, with 7 double rooms, several spacious living rooms, and a large kitchen with the typical rural ambience that is fully equipped and can easily accommodate groups. Originally built in 1892, the house was recently renovated to more comfortably accommodate our guests, but the beautiful characteristics of its buildings have been preserved. The contrast of schist and granite that can be found throughout the property emphasizes the harmony that exists between what nature has provided and man has embellished. A relaxing and quiet atmosphere almost makes you forget how close you are to all the action that is happening in the surrounding area. The garden is suitable for BBQs and is equipped with picnic tables. The great beach of Guincho is about a 12 minute walk . It is accessed by a new boardwalk over spectacular dunes. The view of the ocean and the Sintra mountains from the cottage and from the dunes is truly spectacular. Only a few minutes walk is a village which has restaurants, cafes and basic shopping. The location is excellent; Lisbon is 35 minutes, Sintra is 15 and Cascais is 7. We live on the same property - although completely independent - and we enjoy helping guests with suggestions and recommendations for shopping, excursions, restaurants, etc. Wine and coffee are offered with pleasure in our large garden. The cottage has a WiFi connection as well as many international TV channels. Guests are invited to use our phone through skype or VoIP in the event that they do not have their own facilities. The owner is American and a concert violinist who has traveled throughout the world and who enjoys relating stories of his travels and hearing stories from our guests. His spouse is Portuguese, knows the country very well and is eager to share her passion for flowers and her knowledge of Portuguese cuisine.
